Terms of Service

These Terms apply to the Timeline StoryBooks website, store, StoryBook editor, Family Workspaces, products and related services (“Services”). The Services are operated by Timeline StoryBooks Inc. (“Timeline StoryBooks,” “we,” “us”).

By using the Services, creating an account, contributing to a StoryBook or placing an order, you agree to these Terms and the applicable Privacy Policy and Return and Refund Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

Accounts and Workspaces

You must be the age of majority where you live to create an account or place an order. Keep your account information accurate and your login details secure. Contact us if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.

A Family Workspace lets a StoryBook creator invite others to contribute photos, captions and memories. Unless we say otherwise, Workspace access lasts 30 days from creation. It is not a permanent storage or backup service, so keep your own copies of important files.

The creator controls the project and decides what to include in the finished book. Contributors’ submissions are available to the creator and may be visible to other invited contributors, depending on Workspace settings. The creator may edit, download, use or omit contributions.

Your Content

You keep any ownership rights you have in content you submit, such as photographs, captions and memories. You give Timeline StoryBooks and the service providers working for us permission to store, format, display privately, prepare, print and deliver that content as needed to provide the Services, fulfill orders and provide support.

We will not use private StoryBook content in public marketing without your separate permission.

You are responsible for having the rights and permissions needed to submit content, including photographs taken by professional photographers and content identifying other people. Do not submit unlawful content, content that violates someone’s rights, or sensitive information that is not needed for the StoryBook.

Acceptable Use and Our Materials

Do not use the Services to break the law, infringe someone’s rights, exploit or endanger a child, upload harmful software, access another person’s account, or interfere with the Services.

Timeline StoryBooks’ historical pages, templates, designs, text, logos and other materials belong to us or our licensors. You may use purchased StoryBooks for personal and family purposes, but may not copy, resell or commercially distribute our materials without written permission.

Orders and Proof Approval

Prices, currency, taxes, shipping and available options will be shown at checkout. By placing an order, you authorize the selected payment provider to charge your payment method.

Review the complete StoryBook design before ordering, including names, dates, spelling, photographs, cropping, page order and shipping details. We print from the design you approve. We do not ordinarily proofread or fact-check customer content. Print colours may vary slightly from what appears on a screen.

Changes or cancellations may not be possible once production begins. See our Return and Refund Policy for details about customer-approved errors, defects, damage and refunds.

Shipping

Shipping and production dates are estimates unless we expressly confirm a date as guaranteed. If we cannot ship within the timeframe promised, we will provide the notice and options required by applicable law, which may include accepting a delay or cancelling for a refund.

You are responsible for providing a complete, accurate shipping address. Contact us as soon as possible if you notice an error. We will try to correct it before shipping, but cannot guarantee changes once an order is being processed.

Service Providers and Privacy

Shopify hosts our online store. We also use service providers to support book design, Workspaces, payments, printing, shipping and customer communications. Their services may be subject to their own terms.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information and StoryBook content.

Availability and Changes

We may update, suspend or discontinue features, products or parts of the Services. We do not guarantee that the website or editor will always be uninterrupted or error-free. We may suspend access when reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention or a serious violation of these Terms.

We may update these Terms by posting a revised version on our website. The updated date will appear at the top. Changes apply as permitted by law and do not remove rights that apply to an order already placed.

Disclaimers and Liability

We make reasonable efforts to describe our products and operate the Services accurately, but third-party services, software and website features may sometimes be unavailable or change.

To the extent permitted by law, Timeline StoryBooks is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the Services. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability, warranties or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the applicable federal laws of Canada. This does not take away mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live.
