Timeline StoryBooks Inc. (“Timeline StoryBooks,” “we,” “us”) operates the Timeline StoryBooks website and online store. This policy explains how we handle personal information when you visit our website, create or order a StoryBook, use a Family Workspace, contribute to a StoryBook or contact us.

Information We Collect

Depending on how you use our services, we may collect:

• Contact and account details, such as your name, email address and shipping address.
• Order and payment details, such as the products ordered and payment confirmation. Payments are handled by Shopify and its payment providers; we do not ordinarily receive your complete payment-card number.
• StoryBook content, including photographs, names, dates, captions, dedications and family memories.
• Contributor details, such as an invited contributor’s name, email address and submitted content.
• Messages you send to us and technical information about your use of the website, such as device, browser, pages visited and cookie information.

We may receive StoryBook content from the person who creates the book and from people they invite to contribute.

How We Use Information

We use personal information to operate the store, manage accounts and Family Workspaces, support StoryBook creation, process and fulfill orders, communicate with customers and contributors, respond to support requests, protect our services, and meet legal and record-keeping obligations.

We use photographs, captions and memories to support the StoryBook project, prepare it for printing, fulfill orders and provide related support. We do not sell StoryBook content or use it for targeted advertising. We will not use your photographs, pages or family memories in public marketing without separate permission.

We may use website and cookie information to operate the site, understand its use and improve our services. You can manage cookies through available website controls or your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect site features.

Family Workspace and Contributions

The StoryBook creator chooses whom to invite to a Family Workspace. Contributions are available to the creator and to authorized Timeline StoryBooks personnel and service providers who need access to provide the service. Depending on the Workspace settings, other invited contributors may also be able to see some Workspace content.

The creator may download, arrange and include contributions in the finished book. We do not control how the creator shares downloaded files or completed books outside our services.

Only submit content you have permission to use. Please avoid uploading information that is not needed for the StoryBook, such as passwords, financial-account details or government identification numbers.

When We Share Information

We share information only as needed to operate the services described in this policy. Shopify hosts our store. We also use service providers for book design, Family Workspaces, file storage, payment processing, email, printing, fulfillment and shipping. These providers receive information needed to perform their services.

For an order, a printing partner may receive the print-ready StoryBook file, and a shipping provider may receive the recipient’s name and delivery details. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect our services or rights, or as part of a business sale or reorganization.

Processing in Other Countries

We and our service providers may process or store information in Canada, the United States or other countries. Information held in another country may be subject to that country’s laws.

Retention and Security

Family Workspace access is available for 30 days. When that period ends, access may expire; this does not necessarily mean all related files are immediately deleted. We keep personal information as reasonably necessary to provide the services, support orders, maintain required business records and meet legal obligations.

We use reasonable safeguards to protect personal information, but no online service or storage method can be guaranteed completely secure.

Your Choices and Requests

You can unsubscribe from promotional emails using the link in the email. We may still send necessary messages about your account, Workspace, contributions or orders.

Depending on where you live, you may be able to request access to or correction of your information, request deletion where applicable, or exercise other privacy rights. Contact us below. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

Children

Our services are intended for adults. An adult who uploads a photograph of a child is responsible for having the appropriate permission to use it in the StoryBook.
